Lydall's Commercial/Industrial air filtration media are engineered to provide superior filtration performance for applications ranging from 45% ASHRAE through HEPA and ULPA. LydAir® commercial air filtration media are designed for a wide range of applications such as general HVAC, industrial processed air and those specialty applications requiring the finished filter to perform in harsh environments due to high temperature or high humidity.. .

Designed to offer the highest ALPHA available, Lydall media is chosen for applications where reduced energy costs provide a distinguishable advantage.

Alpha is an index used to characterize and compare filtration media and finished filters. The index displays the relationship of penetration (%) to resistance (mm H2O). Improving ALPHA can be accomplished by lowering the penetration (how many particles pass through the filter) while maintaining the resistance to air flow or by reducing the resistance to air flow while maintaining the penetration. In general, a higher ALPHA value indicates a superior filter.

One must be careful to compare similar media or filters when using ALPHA. Specifically, electrostatically charged filter media provide a high initial ALPHA but may not offer the lifetime performance required by a given application.

Formula: ALPHA = -log10(Penetration (%) / 100) x (100 / Resistance (mm))
